June Featured Military Spouse of the Month... Brittany!!!

This month I received the opportunity to feature Mrs. Brittany Barlow!! Some of you may know Brittany from her Deployment Diaries she did for Military Spouse Magazine!  Here is a little bit about Brittany and her incredible advice as a military spouse! Enjoy!

Summary:

My name is Brittany Barlow. I am a military wife, mother of two precious girls, and one sweet dog. I enjoy making youtube videos. I am very passionate about beauty (makeup/hair). My dream is to be a successful makeup artist. I love to make people feel beautiful and confident. I just love all the creativity behind it all, and have always been drawn to creative things. It was over this past year where I discovered makeup artistry was the biggest passion of them all. It all just clicked one day, yes at 24, but finally all just made sense. I thought to myself, "why am I not doing this"..so I started my journey through making beauty videos on youtube. I have learned so much from youtube and just want to continue learning, taking courses, or just whatever it takes to follow my dreams.

Interview:

Me: How long have you been a military spouse?
BB:Since August 19, 2006, so almost six years now.

Me:What makes you most proud about being a military spouse?
BB:Just having the honor of being married to a wonderful man who fights for our country and defends our freedom.

Me:What has being a military spouse inspired you to do?
BB:It has inspired me to live in the moment, because nothing is guaranteed.

Me:What is one thing you have learned about being a military spouse?
BB: That it is a tough job and I am up for the challenge. You have to be ready for anything. You really have a chance to discover what you passions are in the time you spend alone (when your spouse is deployed/training/etc.). I am so excited/anxious to see where we will be going and what we will be doing in the many years to come as a military wife and mother of two!

Me:What is some advice you could give to other military spouses and future military spouses?
BB: To really choose your friends' wisely. Quality over quantity. Other than your family, your friends' we be your biggest support system. The people you surround yourself with reflect on you and you have a choice on who those people are going to be. Also that things ALWAYS change with the military, so be mentally prepared and open for anything. Don't worry about things until they actually come, instead take that time and just enjoy what is in the now!
