THE YUMMIEST SOUP RECIPE EVERRR

Last Fall I made this oh so very delicious soup and it was a total hit with my little family. I pulled out the recipe a few weekends ago and it was just as delicious as it was the first time so I though I would share it with you today! Enjoy!


Harvest Bean Soup





Ingredients:

2tbs. olive oil and a little for drizzling
1 1/2c. cherry tomatoes
1c. diced pancetta or bacon (should be about 4 slices of bacon)
1 jalapeño
1c. diced onion
2c. kale leaves
1 1/2c. butternut squash
1 1/2. diced carrots
6c. chicken broth
1/2tsp. cumin
1/2tsp. dried oregano
1/4tsp. cayenne pepper
fresh ground pepper (to taste)
kosher salt (to taste)
2 cans navy beans (rinsed)
fresh parmesan cheese (for garnish)


- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Place your cherry tomatoes on a cookie sheet and lightly coat them with a little olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper. Roast them until they are nice a squishy (20-30 min). Take them out of the oven and set aside.


- Heat olive oil in a large soup pot. Add pancetta or bacon and cook until done. Add jalapeño, onion, squash, and carrots. Cook until soft and be sure to stir frequently. Add chicken broth, spices, and navy beans. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer for 20 minutes or so. Make sure your beans and veggies are well cooked.

- Stir in your cherry tomatoes and kale. Cook until the tomatoes are warm and the kale is wilted. Add salt and pepper to taste. Top with shaved parmesan and serve!

This soup serves about 6 and if you need to make more simply double your recipe. I hope you all love this delicious fall soup!

First off Happy Fall! We spent the weekend tucked away in the mountains and it was heavenly! The air was crisp and the leaves were starting to change colors... It's was amazing! Of course when we got back to the hi-desert it was 95 degrees! Summer is still holding on! With that being said I'm beyond ready for the Fall season! It is by far my favorite time of the year! CAMP WOLF

Today I am so thrilled to be sharing a brand I have completely fell in love with called CAMP WOLF. Camp Wolf is a children's and adult clothing company that creates one of a kind pieces... The quality and look of the jackets are incredible. And every jacket is a one of a kind! I am over the moon with these and just adore this one on Asher. This little baseball tee (pictured on Asher) is one of my favorites. It's soft, versatile, and of course pairs with their jackets oh so nicely! All of these are incredibly unique and will make any outfit pop!

DIY DISTRESSED JEANS

I'm sure you all have seen the distressed grunge skinny jean trend that is going to be huge this Fall and let me say I'm am super obsessed with it. I've found a few pairs online that I totally wanted, but just couldn't justify paying the price for a pair of jeans with holes in them. I decided to take matters into my own hands and today I'm sharing a super fun and simple way to get distressed jeans for a FRACTION of the cost! 

You will need a pair of jeans, chalk (for marking your holes), and scissors. 

You will want to start by slipping your jeans on and marking where you want your holes. I wanted mine sightly above the knee so that is where I drew my chalk lines. If you are having a hard time drawing your lines using a mirror makes the processes a little easier!

Next you will want to cut your holes. I cut mine about 2 - 2 1/2in across on both knees. Be careful not to cut through the back of your jeans!

Now you will want to take the tips of your scissors or a needle and carefully pull a few loose threads where your holes are. This will give them a more distressed look. Dust off your chalk lines or simply throw your jeans in the wash to remove them. 

Now you have a pair distressed jeans that will be a staple piece in your Fall wardrobe!

REVIEW:

What I first noticed about the leggings was the adorable design. Totally gender neutral and perfect for a little boy or girl! Secondly I noticed the quality of them. They are a nice organic cotton knit and so soft! Perfect for sensitive little legs. The stitching on the leggings is fabulous... (Im very picky when it comes to the sewing and these are superb!) These leggings are incredibly well made and will not fall apart after a few wears. 

I paired the leggings with a comfy little tee, a light cardigan, moccs, and a hat since its finally cooling off here in the high desert. The leggings are very versatile and can be dressed up or down.

What I also loved about Sugarplum Lane was their packaging.. I. Love. Good. Packaging.... and theirs is perfect! They even include a little card on how to wash the items (pictured below) which I find so handy! I can not tell you how many times I have washed something improperly and it has faded, shrunk, ect. Im not a laundry expert so I greatly appreciated this little card! 

Lastly after washing the leggings a few times they still look brand new! No fading, shrinking, or pilling! Super pleased with these little leggings! Excellent quality from awesome little small business!

Fall Baby Style...

With Fall shortly around the corner, I've been oggling over these baby Fall must haves from some of my favorite brands! Fall is by far my favorite season... It's not even August yet and I'm already ready to hang my fall decor, open the windows, burn a pumpkin spice candle, and dress my little man! Here are a few of my favs!

Pumpkin Brownies...

So as you all already know I'm a sucker for super easy 2 ingredient recipes, so today I wanted to share with you a delicious brownie recipe I tested out the other night. Super easy to make and perfect for Fall! 
Ingredients: 1 Box Brownie Mix (Ghirardelli is my fav!) 1 15oz can Pure Pumpkin 1/2c. Chocolate Chips (optional)
Mix the package of brownie mix, (NO egg, water, or oil as directed on the box) chocolate chips, and pumpkin in a bowl.  Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake according to the back of the brownie box. Brownies will be very cake like and moist when done. (Top with a little confectioners sugar if you would like!) 
Serve and enjoy!
